THE LOST 'REVENGE' LOCATION: THE TATOOINE HOVEL!

Luke and Artoo make the most of a local Tatooine hovel in order to plan (alongside Lando and Chewie) Han Solo's ultimate rescue from Jabba the Hutt, in this intriguing production design by the late Norman Reynolds, from circa mid-1981, for Revenge of the Jedi. It would be a scene that would be changed by the time Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas's script was finalised by the end of that year, replaced with a small cave environment where Luke would receive telepath communication from Darth Vader whilst completing his new lightsaber.

'Y' IS FOR Y-WING!

Another great behind the scenes reference image from Revenge of the Jedi presumably sent to Kenner Toys/merchandisers in 1982, showing in close detail Princess Leia's Y-wing fighter, ultimately abandoned on Tatooine as she, Han, Lando, Chewie and Threepio depart the planet during the deleted 'Sandstorm' sequence...

CLASSIC IMAGE: GIRL TALK!

On the Tatooine desert stage at Elstree Studios, also housing the Millennium Falcon shell and X and Y-wing fighter props, Carrie Fisher gets in a chat with one of the film's British production team, Pat Carr, before the sandstorm wind machines get going to make filming uncomfortable for the cast, on the first day's filming of Revenge of the Jedi, in January 1982.

DELETED SCENE: DROID OF THE STORM

Artoo Detoo cuts a lone figure as the Tatooine sandstorm around it and the Millennium Falcon continues, in this great filming image from the start of production of EPISODE VI, for what was originally titled REVENGE OF THE JEDI.

THE RETURN OF 'REVENGE' (2011)

Princess Leia (Sandstorm outfit).

Back to the Sandstorm, and the deleted scenes of EPISODE VI linked to REVENGE OF THE JEDI's 1982 filming days, with these great 2011/2012 KENNER figures that cleverly emerged linked to the then Blu-ray saga box set release. Special illustration work, photoshopping of stills from EPISODE VI, and new artwork were used for the card covers. Interestingly, none of the stills of actor Mike Stevens in the deleted scene Falcon cockpit gun section were used for the cover art (perhaps for legal and cost issues- the figure bears no likeness of Stevens, either). Instead, a photo of an American model, who looked vaguely similar to the UK actor/extra, was used.

Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction).
Lando Calrissian (Sandstorm Outfit).
Colonel Cracken (Millennium Falcon Crew).
